Getting off to a great start
What’s important
when your Child starts School?
Starting on time. Being
at school before the learning bell goes is very important. Your child needs
this time to get organized, socialize with friends and fit into the structure
of the day. We know ourselves that our day doesn’t go well when we start it in
a rush.
Uniform: Having
the correct uniform allows your child to “fit in” and feel like part of the
school.
Communication: All
of the teachers in the Team want the very best for your child. The very best
happens when parents work with the Teacher as part of a team and this requires
great communication.
Concerns: Need to
be aired quickly with the Teacher so that we can address any problem that you,
or your child may be having. There is nothing too big or too small that cannot
be dealt with together.
Energy: This is a
biggy! Your child Needs food that can keep their brain working at full speed.
Unfortunately there is a lot of packaged food on the market that is not so
great for fueling our bodies. Nothing beats a sandwich and fruit. Energy
drinks are also full of sugar and not good brain food. They also encourage ants
to steal our lunches. Water is a much cheaper and healthier alternative.
Your
child will be very busy and a full day at school is very tiring for children
when they first start. Ensure that your child gets plenty of sleep and has a
regular bedtime.
Supplies: Getting
your child’s stationery requirements at the start of school sets your child up
for success. If you have any problems with acquiring the full years stationery
please talk to your child’s teacher. They will be able to help with what is
most important to get for a start.
Stories: Listen
to your child share their school day stories with you. Ask them about their
learning.
