Our vision – Bilingual education at Lincoln Heights School.
We value the diversity our community brings to Lincoln Heights School. Through the creation of our Bilingual unit, we show our commitment to educational excellence of our students from a Samoan home language. Parents, teachers, and students are committed to the success of our learners.
We believe that a bilingual approach supports our students learning in English through strengthening their home language. Over our 5-8 year implementation process, we will show the benefits to the learners, our school and our community. Through monitoring student achievement and continual analysis over this time, we will be able to refine our practice to ensure a high quality of teaching and learning.
We aspire to having a a fully resourced teacher and learning space, where the teacher has access to professional development and resources to effectively deliver a quality learning programme.
We dream of sending out confident productive members of society, who can contribute to our community through the skills they gain in our bilingual unit.
