Camp Tupare for a week!
Such rich learning and enabling experiences for these students to be a part of. It was great to see students that had clearly not experienced this kind of camping before, really get involved with the different activities and the general day to day business of being part of a 'community'.
Some of my highlights from this camp were:
-Seeing students that I got to spend time with during group activities being genuinely supportive of each other and lots of the elder boys taking on mentoring roles to support their peers when needed.
-I loved seeing students work co-operatively during cooking preparation and sharing of food cooked by themselves.
-Trekking to the lake for the day was my favourite and an awesome experience - the best opportunity I had to see students working collaboratively and supporting each other in and around the water learning all about safety as well as overcoming confidence barriers.
Hopefully these photographs provide a snapshot of how much fun and learning our students had.
"we went to the lake and learnt some things about water safety and we made rafts with bamboo and we learned how to safely kayak and row. It was a rainy day but so much fun" Xtyrling, R28
"My experience at Camp Tupare was amazing and I am definitely coming on camp if there is camp next year. Overall Camp Tupare is awesome." Rumesh, R28
