Our Year 5 & 6 students celebrate diversity and each individuals learning successes. We work collaboratively to encourage and push one another to be the best version of ourselves, socially, emotionally and academically. As a class community, we become family. Our learning environment becomes our space where we feel safe to be who we are. We are encouraged to try new things to deepen and expand our own learning and understanding.
Every Thursday, Year 5-8 students partake in Rotations. This is an awesome opportunity for all students to get to know each other and each of our Kauri Teachers. This also gives us teachers the chance to grow relationships with all students. My passion in Visual Arts, Rotations allows me to prepare and execute exciting and hands on art lessons. For some students, Visual Arts allows them to express themselves where words cannot. They get to learn new skills such as painting, sketching, water-painting, designing/crafting. Students then use those skills towards creating fun and exciting artwork!
